Our Services
Home visit (domiciliary)
We offer a home visit service to provide a full range of physiotherapy treatments in a home or residential care home. We help patients to identify issues, receive treatment on a regular basis (if required) and learn how to self-manage their recovery in between appointments. Please call us to discuss a home visit appointment.
Commonly asked questions
What happens during an appointment?
An initial assessment lasts around 45 minutes. Your Physiotherapist will ask some questions about your condition or injury. They will then physically assess you through a number of movements. You may have to lie on a plinth depending on the area of injury. Your physiotherapist will finish the session by explaining the proposed treatment plan and book a follow-up appointment if necessary.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing to your appointment. Depending on where the issue is, you may have to remove some clothing once you’re behind the curtain. If it is an issue with your lower back, hips or legs, it is best to wear shorts. If you are being treated for a shoulder or neck issue, it is best wear or bring a top with thin straps.
What will the treatment include?
Once your Physio has decided the most effective treatment, they may use mobilisations, soft tissue massage, acupuncture, stretching and exercises. Each appointment may differ slightly.
What happens afterwards?
You may feel a little tender following your appointment but follow up exercises and appointments will ensure you feel better. The number of appointments required to get you back to full health will vary.
